Tungsten Tarot

The only time I remember a darts player seeking the help of a fortune teller was in Blackpool about 12 years ago when Jocky went into the tent of one of the PetulengroÕs. He sat down, got good news, flashed his false teeth and the gypsy ran off in fright. Not so when young Kevin McDine politely listened as he was given positive vibes by a reader of Tarot cards in Wolves. The Hanged Man was prominent and it applied to Jelle Klaasen, who was strung-up and hung out to dry by the Geordie.
Kevin blitzed the former world champ from the get-go with two 180s in his opening leg. He did a 12-darter to get to 4-0 and by then was averaging 106. Nobody, not even Taylor, started last nightÕs match with such a surge. Klaasen was snatching again and knew the Geordie had him when Kevin hit a 100 shot out to go up 7-3. In the end Kev won 10-3. Stunning.
Back to the Tarot. Kevin says he wanted to be darts world champ from being a toddler and the card showing The River (surely the Tyne) indicates torrents of success. He certainly can win the Grand Slam.
