Phil The Slammer's Ball

Phil the Power Taylor is crowned the first ever winner of the Grand Slam and the planets of darts are once more back in their true orbit. What can the Doubting Thomases say now to a performance that included 32 140+ shots and NINE legs on the trot in a world class final? On the wane? Rubbish!
As a Power watcher of many yearsÕ standing, I reckon Phil is now red hot favourite to land the PDC world title next month at Ally Pally. The old bullying and high scoring were much in evidence against Andy Hamilton and now Phil is talking to a sports psych. That is the final vital ingredient. I think Phil thought the only bloke who could beat him this week was Gary Anderson and, till the last two legs of their semi, that worry showed in sloppy shooting ay key moments. Mind you, over 35 legs I donÕt think Anderson could have taken PhilÕs surges. The Scot is inexperienced at long-course arrows and showed his frustrations in patchy form late in the match.
