Phil Cool at the Kill

The two best players currently in world darts fought out a belter in the second semi. The sheer cool class of Anderson dominated the early exchanges and he got to 4-3 with four 180s and a 103 average. I was not sure that Taylor could push his pathetic early average of 92 over 100.
I was wrong and The Power got to 5-3 as the Scot lost scoring power, dropping his average to 97. Then Taylor stared missing double galore and Gary had brilliant cover shots to take the game to 9-8.
Taylor continued to score heavily and I expected 12 and 13 darters to show from him. Not so, but Gary began missing doubles. Then a brilliant 120 shot out brought the man in black to 11-10. Then more misses for the Scot.
Taylor twigged the nerves were getting through to his opponent and fired in a crippler 110 average leg to get to 12-11. This was typical Phil bullying under pressure. The man in black turned a whiter shade of pale and Phil won 13-11.
Looking back, I reckon two factors did it for Phil. One: 19 140+ shots to his opponents 17 - thus drawing the sting. Two: totally cool killer pro darts in the last three legs. I fear for Hamilton in the final.
