Blow by Tungsten Blow

Back to our super final.
The match was beautifully balanced at 5-5, with both players averaging 101. Hamilton was very comfy on the 180s - he did 6 early doors - but his adjustments to other parts of the board were off. Then Taylor struck with the Bully Boy routine taught him donkeys ago by Bristow. He pushed his average to 108 and won FIVE legs on the trot in one session. No other player in the world could do this against an opponent averaging 106. That brilliant burst meant the match was over, and that Andy could only put a veneer on the score-line.
Taylor got even better, pushing the consecutive winning legs to 9 with Andy missing odd double but still scoring well. In the latter stages Andy pushed his 180 tally to 13 and had a steady 104 average late into the proceedings. Still The Power kept going strong, despite six missed doubles to win the match. Phil won at a canter 18-11. I doubt if many rivals would have pegged back as well as Andy did after the mid-match blitz.
With three weeks of solid, dedicated practice plus a bit of Zen, it frightens me how good Phil is going to be at Ally Pally for the Big One. This was a brutal neon message for the lads - Who is The Daddy now?
