RAYMOND claimed his fifth World Championship title in January, marking his debut in the PDC event with a stunning 7-6 final-leg win over Phil Taylor, hitting a record 21 180s in the final.
The Dutchman has backed that up this year with some outstanding displays, retaining the UK Open title and winning the Las Vegas Desert Classic.
He has also been the most prolific player on the PDC Pro Tour, winning six tournaments as well as February's Masters of Darts in his homeland.
Recognised as his country's greatest ever player, van Barneveld hit the first ever Premier League nine-darter against Peter Manley in 2006 only weeks after moving onto the PDC circuit.
