PHIL is recognised as the greatest ever darts player, having claimed 13 World Championship titles since bursting onto the scene in 1990.
Taylor has appeared in every PDC World Championship final since 1994, losing out for only a third time 12 months ago with his sudden-death loss to Raymond van Barneveld.
The Stoke legend has had a mixed year since, winning a third successive Premier League Darts title, landing two nine-darters and winning the new PDC US Open and German Darts Championship, only to suffer first round defeats in the Las Vegas Desert Classic and World Grand Prix.
However, Taylor - who has claimed every major title in darts - has recently been back in top form, winning four straight tournaments leading up to the World Championship, including the new Grand Slam of Darts event in Wolverhampton.
Successes in the UK Open, Las Vegas Desert Classic, Premier League, US Open and the one-off revival of the News of the World tournament have been accompanied by him taking the standard of professional darts to a new level.
Taylor has achieved five live, televised nine-dart finishes - no other player has achieved more than one in a major event - and his rivalries with Dennis Priestley, John Part and now Raymond van Barneveld have produced some of the most memorable encounters in the sport's history.
