KEVIN was the runner-up in one of the best ever World Championship finals four years ago, losing in a sudden-death leg to Phil Taylor after leading 4-1 in the contest.
He has shown glimpses of that form during 2007, with some good displays in the major tournaments - losing to Colin Lloyd, Raymond van Barneveld and Phil Taylor in the UK Open, Las Vegas Desert Classic and World Matchplay - followed up by him qualifying for the Grand Slam of Darts.
He reached the quarter-finals of that event in Wolverhampton as well as two semi-finals in Players Championships.
A quarter-finalist in the World Championship two years ago, losing to his nemesis Phil Taylor, meaning he has to defend £20,000 prize money in this event to maintain his place in the world's top 16.
