COLIN has slipped down from being the number one seed going into last year's World Championship, but is looking to work his way back into the world's top ten.

The former World Matchplay and World Grand Prix champion has shown flashes of his best form in 2007, reaching the semi-finals of the UK Open and two finals on the PDC Pro Tour.

A favourite of the Essex crowd at the Circus Tavern, he already has fond memories of Alexandra Palace following an 8-0 whitewash of Terry Jenkins in the Premier League Darts at the venue in April.

A semi-finalist in the 2002 World Championship, Lloyd was a narrow second round loser to eventual champion Raymond van Barneveld last year after going out to Gary Welding in round one 12 months earlier.

Colin followed that up by winning the World Matchplay the following summer, defeating John Part in the final and also taking six other ranked titles to maintain his status at the top of the rankings.

He reached the final on the defence of his World Grand Prix title in 2005, and has also been an ever-present in the three Premier League Darts staged so far.

Colin's last appearance in a major final was at the 2006 International Darts League, and he was a semi-finalist at the UK Open this June, as well as reaching the quarter-finals in the World Grand Prix last month.
